This blog is just a place for some of the photos that I've taken in my life, from snapshots to studio photos. I claim no particular talent at photography, but it does something for me that little else does... let's just call it shutter therapy.
Just a little background on photography in my life. My father gave me a 35mm camera when I was a young teen and it was love at first shot. Since then, I've started collecting more photo equipment of different kinds and have been teaching myself some technique, though I've got a long way to go to get where I want to be regarding photography. It's still all trial and error.
Hopefully there will be something here that interests you. To me, it's photo play.
Again, welcome.

Nice shot, Velvet Girl.
I was looking at profiles on blogs I regularly visit to see who does multiple blogs and I found this one, apparantly on your first day. Cool.
I recently started a second one too.
Velvet! Wow! A photo blog. Very cool. Very cool indeed. Just from this photo alone I know that I ain't even close to your league! Hugs and kisses.

I'm excited about seeing your photos. I love taking photos, but I'm not quite brave enough to share them yet! LOL
Is this a self portrait? I love the sepia tones and shadows.

Yes, it is a self-portrait. It was from the shots that I took for my profile photo, but there were others that I liked more.
I wasn't quite sure that I was brave enough to do it, either. You should consider posting your own photos... really! It would be great to see them.
I worked in photo labs for years and loved looking at all the pictures. I thought it was really fascinating to see what people were interested in taking photos of. :)

Thanks for the kind words! I have so many photos from over the years that I look forward to posting. Not only that, it'll give me the inspiration to actually shoot (and learn!) some more. It keeps me sane. ;)

I love your use of light here, and the pose is so natural. You are really, really good, girl. Really.
such a beautiful shot. Just wow.

I'm glad that you liked this.
These shots were tricky to take, since I had no assistance at all (the shutter release remote is hidden behind my foot) and had no idea what the poses looked like until the shots were taken. I got lucky sometimes! :)
